What is a Quilt?

A quilt is not a blanket but can act in a similar manner.

A quilt is a bed cover of two layers of fabric filled with padding (such as cotton or wool batting) held in place by ties or stitching (machine or hand)

A blanket is a large piece of woven wololen or similar material used as a bed covering or other covering for warmth.

A quilt is frequently referred to as a blanket, but a blanket is rarely referred to as a quilt.
