Wow!!!! Just WOW!!!!
I entered the fair with ZERO expectations. I had no idea what I was doing, whether or not my work would be "good enough". I liked what I created and that is all that mattered to me. I have always really enjoyed the County fair. It is a great place to see what others are doing. So, I jumped in with both feet and I entered 5 quilts. All very different from one another.
The judging and hanging of the quilts took place while I was on vacation too. Talk about STRESSFUL!!! I had no idea what was happening.
I entered 5 quilts in the San Mateo County Fair and received wonderful feedback from the judges. The one quilt that was an absolute wild card for me was titled "Fluke". It was my whale tail quilt - designed and created by me...No patterns...no designs,,,no one (except my hubby)even knew I was working on it. This one surprised me the most as it not only earned a First Place in its division, it was also Best of it's Division. I had my little Butterfly quilt earned a Second Place in its division and my blue Shibori Diamonds quilt earned a special award, "Best use of the Color Blue"
I was absolutely shocked when I saw everything hanging with ribbons attached. Absolutely blown away. Like I said, I went into this with ZERO expectation...just hoping that I might get some constructive feedback.
WOW!
