So much has happened this year so far! I attended "Road to CA" in January. I don't have any pictures of that. Then it was on to the San Mateo County Fair, where I entered 4 quilts, three of which earned ribbons from 1st to Judges Choice and an Honorable Mention.
Then off to Minnesota where I entered a couple of quilts and one earned a 3rd place. I was pretty freakin please about that! Even better, my new friend Jen was awarded with two ribbons on her beautiful quilt. So very cool!
It was in Minnesota where I meet the Thimble lady (Jan of Thimbles for You). They are absolutely gorgeous. Sterling Silver and so unique and beautiful. This is where it all started!
I asked my sister to bring her quilt along and we were able to photograph both of us with our sisters quilts ibn Duluth, MN where we grew up.
Yes, my long arm. My husband finally agreed to help me rearrange the garage so that it would work better for both of us. I could not be happier. Well, I could, but a she shed aka her castle) is not in the picture at the moment.
On to testing out the new location on a panel with some pretty extensive pattern stitch out. I love how everything is finally coming together.
Then the Stam Sew-A-Long...what was I thinking. I love the concept and the stam plocks are pretty easy to master once you do a couple an ddon't ruch...the sashing...seriously, what was I thinking? It is not readyy to show yet, but when it is- you all will be the first to see.
A small, little break from sewing...I carved a little tweety bird and a repeat vine. Love the ideas, and concepts. I would really like to get better at it and the only way to do that is to practice.
Next, the quilt that I started with, but then had to remove from my long arm because I needed to get a couple of baby shower quilts done has been re-loaded on the long arm and man oh man is this one going to take a bit to complete. A LOT of FMQ work and ruler work. No computerized on this one.
Last and most recent, my new design wall- by Felt Right. I love how it looks and I will start to use it as soon as I get a few other things off my plate!
This year in a nut shell!
